Alex Borschow
Co-Founder and Managing Partner // Semillero Partners LLC
Alex Borschow, co-Founder and Managing Partner at Semillero Partners, has been evaluating and investing in food industry innovations for over a decade. In his current role, Borschow applies the skills developed from a successful career in finance and a rich education in sustainability and leadership to help entrepreneurs of purpose-driven sustainable food and food tech companies drive strategic growth.
A long-time food tech investor, he led the firm’s early investment in Imperfect Produce, which has gone on to raise a $110M Series D in 2021, as well as in Farmer’s Fridge, which raised a $40MM Series D in 2021. Prior to Semillero Partners, he was the first Director of Finance for Eataly USA. Early in his career, Borschow proved his financial leadership on the equity derivatives institutional sales team at BNP Paribas, where he rose to become the youngest Director in the history of the New York office and head of OTC sales for North America in just five short years.
An active mentor and advocate for a more sustainable and equitable food system, Borschow serves on the Board of Directors for Gfree Foods, Seal the Seasons, Biomass Green Fuels, as well as the Board of Foundation for Puerto Rico, a non-profit dedicated to developing sustainable economic development strategies for Puerto Rico. He also sponsored the Food Systems Sustainability program at MIT and serves as a mentor for the Rabobank’s Food and Ag Innovation Prize, a mentor-in-residence for at Puerto Rico’s premier startup accelerator, Parallel 18, and as a mentor for SVG Ventures’ Thrive Latam Challenge.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a degree in chemical and biological engineering, he also earned his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management along with a Certificate in Sustainability with a focus on food systems.

Gualberto J. Rodríguez-Feliciano

Gualberto Rodríguez, is a food industry veteran and lauded voice in the Puerto Rican entrepreneur and nutrition security communities, currently serving as co-Founder and Managing Partner for Semillero Partners. Passionate about driving a more sustainable food ecosystem by investing in diverse, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, Rodríguez currently focuses on providing business management, strategy, operations, marketing, and team building expertise for Semillero Partners and its portfolio companies.
Seeking impact, Rodríguez serves in several roles across the food and nutrition ecosystem, including as co-founder and chair of Nutriendo PR, a nonprofit addressing health inequities in Puerto Rico by strengthening the nutritional security of its residents. He also serves as chairman and co-founder of Grupo Navis LLC, a privately held, Puerto Rico-based business group focused on scaling wellness businesses for profitable growth and social impact.
As former president of Caribbean Produce Exchange, Inc., Rodríguez dedicated more than 15 years managing the company, establishing himself in the food industry from early in his career. He served as President of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Food Marketing, Industry and Distribution, and has been an active member of the Puerto Rico chapter of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) for 15 years. Recognitions include “Top Management Award for Agribusiness” by the Puerto Rico Association of Sales & Marketing Executives, “Citizen of the Year” by the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, and “40 Under 40” by Produce Business Magazine.
Rodríguez has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University, where he serves on the Board of Trustees.

Natalia López
Partner and General Counsel // Semillero Partners LLC
Natalia López, Esq., Partner and General Counsel for Semillero Partners, brings her experience from a diverse career in the public and private sector to help the Semillero team and its portfolio companies navigate evolving operational, regulatory, diligence and legal demands.
Cultivating a strong and diverse business network, López worked with Executive and the Legislative Branches of the Government of Puerto Rico on economic development matters before joining Semillero. As an advisor to the Secretary of Economic Development, she oversaw strategic economic development programs focused on agriculture, biotechnology, biopharma, distilled spirits, and diaspora engagement projects. As a liaison to the Federal government for the then Governor of Puerto Rico she participated in a wide array of federal, legislative and policy matters. She has also worked at several law firms in Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.
She currently serves as a mentor for Mujer INprende, an organization that fosters entrepreneurship among women in Puerto Rico, and is dedicated to fostering a more diverse entrepreneur community.
López earned her Doctor of Law degree from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico after completing her Bachelor of Arts at Villanova University in political science. She also earned her Certification in Project Management from Villanova University.
